In April 2020, the Slovak Investment Holding (SIH) with the help from its financial intermediary - Crowdberry Investment Management - used part of funds administered within NDF II. to invest into a company called Nitroterra. The funds were channelled from the financial instrument designed to support businesses in the initial stage of their life cycle.
Nitroterra is researching and developing a new method of producing and using bacterial organic fertilizers in agriculture. The company is currently developing a platform of solutions and tools for the decentralized production of bacterial organic fertilizers directly at farms, their administration into soil and, based on soil analysis, recommendation of tailor-made blends of bacterial fertilizers in order to reduce the consumption of synthetic fertilizers and the costs of farmers while simultaneously preserving soil fertility and increase the level of its protection and health.
